What this does

Think of it as a spreadsheet that fills in the prices for you. You enter each ticker symbol and how many shares you hold. The app looks up the current price, multiplies, and shows the value of every holding plus the grand total at the bottom.

It is the browser version of the Windows Stock Portfolio Tracker from the-Automator, so it works on a phone, a Mac, a Chromebook, anywhere with a browser.

How to use it

1. Type a ticker symbol (for example AAPL) and the quantity you own, then click Add Stock. The app checks the ticker exists before adding it.
2. Repeat for each holding. Prices load automatically as you add.
3. Click Get Prices any time to refresh everything. Prices also refresh when you open the app.
4. Click any column header to sort. Click again to flip the direction.
5. Click a row to edit it. Change the ticker or quantity and click Update Stock, or Cancel.
6. Remove Selected deletes the highlighted row. Remove All clears the list after asking you.
7. Export Portfolio saves a tab-delimited text file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. On a phone it opens the share sheet instead.

Price change columns

Open Preferences and tick any of 1 day, 5 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, year to date, or max. Each one adds a column showing how much the price moved over that period, green for up and red for down. The 1 day figure is the change since the previous close.

Preferences

• Dark theme and font size.
• Default sort: which column the list is sorted by when the app opens.
• Import: paste the StockPortfolio.ini from the Windows app, pick the file, or paste plain TICKER=QTY lines. Existing tickers get their quantity replaced.
• Copy portfolio as text: puts your list on the clipboard in the same INI format, handy as a backup or to move to another device.
• Force update: clears the app's cache and reloads. Use it if a new version does not show up.

Install it as an app

In Chrome or Edge on the desktop, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar. On Android, use the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen. On iPhone, tap Share then Add to Home Screen. The app then opens in its own window and remembers your list.
